Min Hyein works across video, photography, sculpture, installation, and performance, investigating the fragile entanglement between the human eye and the camera lens. Min’s practice traces how light and perception form a feedback loop between sensing and machinery, examining how optical systems choreograph the body and structure spatial experience. Drawing from the historical archive of camera technologies alongside everyday visual devices, she questions the presumed transparency of vision and probes the material conditions that bind bodies, objects, and landscapes within regimes of (in)visibility.
Her still and moving image works operate as viewing devices, while sculptural installations extend these inquiries into tactile and architectural form. Working with methods from stop motion to infrared light, she approaches seeing as a temporal event rather than a stable fact. For Min, illusion is not error but a structural condition of perception: when light touches what is already mingled, distiction and confusion become synonymous.
