샤워는 하이브아트페어를 통해 조이솝 작가의 단독 프레젠테이션을 선보인다.
조이솝은 사적인 서사가 담긴 특정한 장소나 사건에서 기인한 이미지, 그리고 그 감각의 잔여들을 조형적으로 다룬다. 기억은 언제나 불완전하고, 반복할 수록 종종 왜곡된 상태로 떠오르곤 한다. 작가의 작업들은 이 불완전한 상태를 고정하기 보다, 끊임없이 미끄러지고 변형되는 상태로 두려는 시도로 느껴진다.
오래된 앨범의 페이지 위에 드로잉을 덧입힌 드로잉 시리즈에서 작가는 이미 기록된 과거 위에 새로운 시간을 중첩하며 기억을 조작하거나 부재하는 기억을 창조한다. 언플레잉(Unplaying) 역시 한때 연주를 위해 사용하던 악기들을 더 이상 기능할 수 없는 상태로 재구성하고 레진으로 박제하는 행위를 통해 그 이전의 용도와 기억을 변경한다. 석고 판 위에 표현된 꽃들은 자연의 재현이라기보다, 찍어내는 기계적 인출 방식에 가깝게 보인다. 작가는 이러한 인위적인 방식을 통해 원본을 왜곡하고 감추며, '악의 꽃'은 이러한 왜곡의 과정을 여과 없이 폭로한다.
작품 전반에 대비와 양가적인 상태들이 반복된다. 생성과 소멸, 성장과 손상, 연결과 단절 같은 상반된 요소들이 하나의 구조 안에서 동시에 작동한다. 그렇기에 의미는 명확하게 고정되지 않고, 서로 다른 상태들이 충돌하며 유지되는 긴장 상태에 머물러있다. 이러한 태도는 명료한 결론을 짓기 이전의 혹은 그럴 수 없는 상태를 지속시킨다. 이는 번식이나 결과로 환원되지 않는 또 다른 생명의 방식, 식물과 자연의 생태적 방식과 닮아있다. 작품은 이어지고, 겹쳐지고, 때로는 비틀린 채 지속되는 관계들, 가치로 환원되지 않는 상태에 머물며 그것들이 연결될 수 있을지 묻는다. 결국 조이솝에게 다루어지는 것은 완성된 형식이 아닌, 계속해서 변형되고 남아 있는 감각과 기억의 상태들이다.

The works on view explore how personal memory and sensation are translated into material form. Rather than reconstructing specific places or events, the artist engages with residual images and sensory traces. Memory is fragmentary, repetitive, and often distorted, and the works allow it to remain in flux rather than fixing it into stable forms.
Album drawings layered over family photographs introduce new temporal layers, reconfiguring recorded images into altered or imagined memories. Sculptures composed of woodwind instruments emerge from embodied habits, as once-functional objects are dismantled and recombined into unified forms. Printed floral images on plaster surfaces operate less as representations of nature and more as artificial constructs shaped by memory, where meaning remains unsettled.
Contrasting conditions such as creation and dissolution, growth and damage, and connection and disconnection coexist within the works. Instead of resolving into a clear message, the works sustain tension and indeterminacy. They reflect on alternative modes of existence that resist fixed meaning or outcome, focusing on states of persistence, overlap, and transformation.
